 Back to the 80s: Meet Charlotte & Molly

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to share something a little different — and very nostalgic. I’ve been working on a brand-new illustration set that takes us straight back to the 1980s classroom. The colours, the memories, the slightly awkward P.E. lessons... it’s all there!

This new set introduces two characters I’ve completely fallen in love with: Charlotte and Molly.

 Charlotte: The Timid Cow

Charlotte has found herself stuck at the top of the rope during P.E. class — wide-eyed and terrified, unsure how to come down. She’s a shy, sweet cow who means well… but maybe climbed a little too high this time. (Haven’t we all been there?)

 Molly: The Caring Mouse

At the bottom of the rope is her best friend, Molly — a gentle, worried mouse cheering her on. She doesn’t quite know how to help, but her heart is in the right place.

These two characters are full of personality and gentle humour, and they’ve been so much fun to create.

 A Set Inspired by My Own School Days

I went to school in the 1980s, so this project is like opening a memory box — rope climbing, gym mats, chalkboards (and chalk rubbers being thrown!) and lined notebooks. I’ve tried to bring those textures and feelings into every detail of this set.

It’s full of retro charm, hand-drawn warmth, and the kind of innocence you can only find in childhood school memories.
