I’m Debbie, the artist and creator behind Artistic Awakening. My journey into art took on a deeper meaning after my dad passed away from cancer. To help process my grief, I created a portrait of him and his partner—a piece that became a form of healing. From there, I began drawing ultra-realistic portraits, mainly for people who had lost loved ones or cherished pets. While I loved the outcome of these portraits, the process was long and emotionally intense. I longed for a way to create more freely, to paint and draw without limits, and to design something that could be shared and cherished over and over again.

That’s when I remembered the joy of beautifully designed stationery from my childhood—paper pads with matching envelopes, used for writing letters to friends and family before the days of the internet and mobile phones. I wanted to bring that magic back. At the same time, I had fallen in love with creating mini albums and junk journal kits. Combining my love for art, memory-keeping, and stationery, the new direction for Artistic Awakening was born.
